Finished in sunny yellow, the Belgian racing color adopted by Ecurie Francorchamps. This #20 car finished ninth in Le Mans 1953 with Roger Laurent and Charles de Tornaco at the wheel.
CMC therefore decided to develop this in terms of motor sports and color scheme interesting variant. The result is a miniature of impressive charisma and sporty dynamics.

The Ecurie Francorchamps was founded in 1952 by Jacques Swaters. The Belgian team took part in some Formula 1 races from 1952 to 54, but the only victory the team scored was with team owner Swaters took at the wheel at the 1956 Avus race, a non-World Cup Grand Prix. The Ecurie Francorchamps contested until the 1978 in sports car racing with Ferrari cars. But the beginnings can be found at Jaguar. The Belgian team took part in the 1953 Jaguar factory entry at Le Mans. Jaguar boss Lyons was impressed by the ninth overall and sent the Belgians to the remaining races of the season in Spa and the Nürburgring. The Belgian racing team competed again with Laurent and team owner Swaters at the Spa 24h in July, but was knocked out due to an engine failure. Also their entry in the Eifel at the end of August remained without countable success for the team – again it was an engine damage, which led to the retirement.
There after, XKC047 went back to Jaguar Cars Ltd. in Coventry and received a new engine with a Weber carburetor system and got the revised rear suspension of the Lightweight models installed. Subsequently, the C-type used by Ecurie Francorchamps was handed over to Dunlop as a test and development vehicle. Until 1959 XKC047 was still in racing, from 1963 on it remained for more than half a century in the possession of one family. This C-type was then the cornerstone of the significant Jaguar collection of Guy Griffith in southern England.
In 2016, the C-Type was sold at a Bonham auction in Monaco for 7.2 million euros – unrestored and totally authentic.
Finally the Ecurie Francorchamps competed again in the 1954 season with a Jaguar rebuilt C-Type (XKC011), also with Weber carburetors and was successful once more: fourth overall at Le Mans in 1954, a third place in Reims at the 12h race and a seventh Place at the legendary Tourist Trophy.
